EMPHATICaL participated in a joint conference, “International Forum on Recent Cross-Cutting Developments in CCU/CCS” in Oviedo, Spain
The event gathered ongoing CCU/CCS Horizon projects including C4U, CaLby2030, HERCCULES, INITIATE, ConsenCUS, ELECTRA, EMPHATICAL, and EnCASE.
Over the past decade, the Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe programmes have funded extensive research on carbon capture and related technologies. This growing community of practice is making significant strides in addressing the challenges of CCU/CCS deployment and defining the path forward for Europe’s net-zero transition.
Marija Saric from TNO presented the EMPHATICaL project to this community, showcasing the concept and vision, the consortium’s roles ,objectives, the project’s utilisation of Calcium Looping (CaL) and Closed Loop Heat Pump Assisted Distillation (cl-HPAD), and the commercial implementation plan.
Thank you to the organisers, C4U Project and Calby2030 Project, for inviting EMPHATICaL to present at the conference. Collaboration between EU-funded initiatives are essential to exchange knowledge and meet climate targets, and EMPHATICaL is dedicated to being a key part of developing innovative and sustainable solutions.
